More Rosalind.

A pic I started well before Christmas and must finish sometime... The sleeve annoys me for some reason, so it needs more love. This is another of Rosalind from my ongoing 'personal project thingy' (as it's officially titled). It's a slight crop of the full image. All painted in Photoshop with my usual brushes.(Because believe it or not you CAN paint in Photoshop).

Edit: Tweaked a bit more and here's a detail of the face. Still not finished yet, as I have 'proper' work to do. Personal art is an illicit lover, you snatch moments with it when you can. :)

Of course you can paint in photoshop, you are living proof of that, and without coming across as too "brown-nosey" a damn fine artist you are too! Unfortunately the inherent media snobbery debate still rolls on; with oil painting being labelled as "proper" painting followed by watercolour etc.. (something I too still regretfully succumb to in my more self-doubting moments.) It was only until recently that acrylic paint was given some credit as a "worthy artistic medium. Unfortunately the uneducated will continue to think you just press a button and photoshop does it all for you, being as the end result isn't tangible unless printed, it's not art! The same folk usually don't see photography as a valid art-form either. Long may you continue to inspire and produce the wonderful art that you do sir! You are most definitely an amazing artist and a wonderful painter in your chosen medium! I continue to enjoy, and be inspired by your work immensely.

Thanks Abdul! :)

And thank you enormously for that considered response Mark. I was being a little ‘pointed’ in my post I suppose. It stems back from a number of internet conversations over the comparison of digital to traditional media. I have got a little wearied of having to say it’s done in Photoshop and have the questioner glaze over as though I’ve just pressed the ‘art’ button. That’d be the four years in art college, and the 15 as a traditional animator not doing anything for me then..?

stunning picture in itself never mind that you created it in Photoshop. I can barely draw a circle in that program. I love the detail in your work.

Thanks James! Ha ha! Yeah, but you're also rather good with the wet stuff as well!
